RYA JUNIOR DINGHY COURSE at DSSC  (Basic expectations)
This is a four day course intended for students aged Ten years to Sixteen years of age.
Students do not need to have any previous experience of sailing (although a requirement of the course is an ability to swim at least 50 metres wearing a buoyancy aid)
All equipment is provided by DSSC including full safety cover with experienced and qualified boat helms and crews.

The course is run according to RYA directives (as we are an approved RYA Training Centre) and instruction is provided by experienced and qualified Dinghy Instructors.
The course dates for the Summer Course are Monday 14th August to Thursday 17th August inclusive.

Within the four days students will be taught how to rig and launch a Pico Dinghy safely and learn the basics of handling a boat in a variety of conditions. The ultimate test will be to sail from the beach unaided and return safely under controlled conditions. There is, of course a great deal of theory to support the sailing but we aim to make this as much fun as possible!
We usually end the course with a series of mini races which allow the students to compete against each other, with amazing results!

The course cost is 99.00 Euros, (including Logbook, Certificates and Handbook) It must be said that this is a fraction of the equivalent course in UK and the weather is rather better in Cyprus!
