Major Road Disruptions Kolossi to RAF Akrotiri

Starts Tomorrow Major Road Disruptions from Kolossi to RAF Akrotiri - We would like to inform you that road works to install cables from the EAC substation at Kolossi up to the RAF Akrotiri main entry point will be carried out between the 15 March and the end of September 2017. These will include excavations and other relevant works and will take place in phases along the main Kolossi-Akrotiri road. Two sets of traffic lights will be in operation at each part of the road where works will be taking place, while there will be a 30 km maximum speed restriction.
The works will be taking place from Monday-Saturday, however, traffic control and speed restriction will remain in place on Sundays as well.
A new electrical substation is also being constructed to the rear of the RAF Akrotiri MEP, which will result in construction traffic exiting/entering Flamingo Way just after the inward barrier at the MEP.  See map detailing the dates of the road closure’s here.
Personnel, their families, civilian staff and contractors should take account of this when planning any journeys to and from RAF Akrotiri and add an extra 20 minutes to their journey times to cope with any possible delays.
Members of the public may also get updated information of these and other programmed road works at www.traffic4cyprus.org.cy
